About the program

CARE LATAM is a regional medical education program that empowers physicians across Latin America with the knowledge, skills and tools to improve care for patients living with multimorbidity (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia, obesity and chronic venous disease). It brings together science, clinical practice and regional insight to help achieve treatment goals, improve adherence and ensure long-term patient engagement.

Its foundation is the CARE methodology, expressed through the Virtuous Cycle, a patient-centered model along the multimorbidity patient journey that connects soft skills, clinical (hard) skills and the incorporation of new technologies, promoting more integrated, continuous and collaborative care.

The three program modules are inspired by this journey: starting with holistic patient evaluation, moving to the implementation of optimal medical therapy and lifestyle change, and culminating in long-term engagement and follow-up.

Holistic Vision and Human Connection

Rethink patient assessment in multimorbidity by integrating risk stratification, holistic clinical insight and the patient’s voice through active listening, to build deeper and more effective doctor–patient communication.

Fighting
Inertia

Advance multimorbidity care by implementing optimal medical therapy and lifestyle change, guided by real clinical cases and cross-specialty discussions.

Adherence
for Life

Promote long-term follow-up by identifying barriers and opportunities to adherence, and combining patient-engagement strategies with digital tools and AI that support both physicians and patients in sustaining treatment over time.
